Small Tortures
Small Tortures is an experiment in bodily autonomy, endurance, and language. It is also an exercise in listening to one’s body.
Removed from a traditional linguistic structure, the words and phrases in these images take on additional ambiguity. The body becomes the context through which we may attempt to decipher their meaning. The body must also be attuned to during the process of these impressions; pain is constantly gaged and the body is constantly asked, “Is this enough? Is this too much?”
